August 30 - International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances
• The United Nations (UN) observes the International Day of the Victims of Enforced
Disappearances on August 30 each year. In December 2010, the UN officially declared
that it would annually observe the International Day of the Victims of Enforced
Disappearances on August 30 each year, starting from 2011.

PM launches the Fit India Movement
• The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Fit India Movement at a ceremony
in New Delhi on the occasion of National Sports Day. Launching the people’s movement
on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyanchand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid
tributes to Major Dhyanchand, India’s sports icon who enthralled the world with his
game and techniques.
